Home Tour 2010 East Lansing’s Glencairn Neighborhood

Greater Lansing Housing Coalition’s (GLHC’s) annual Home Tour on Sunday, September 26 will showcase homes in East Lansing’s Glencairn neighborhood.  This will be the first home tour for the neighborhood and the 15th annual Tour for GLHC. 

The five historic homes featured on the Tour are:

1.  1230 W. Grand River Ave. – Atkinson Family Home
2.  717 Cowley Ave. – Draper Family Home
3.  926 Wildwood Ave. – McCoy Family Home
4.  627 N. Harrison – McKeague Family Home
5.  1141 Southlawn – Sheets & Amiss Family Home

“Tourists will have a wonderful time walking in this historical neighborhood and visiting the homes,” said Katherine Draper, GLHC Executive Director, “These premier residences are diverse and have styles that range from traditional to contemporary.  We are very excited for the opportunity to showcase these homes.  This provides the public with an opportunity to visit unique properties that have never been open for viewing.”       

Cost: tickets are $20 each
Tickets are available starting on or around 9/10/10 at: Cricket’s Home Furnishings, Great Lakes Chocolate & Coffee, Mole Hole, O’Leary Paint, Smith Floral and Greenhouses, and Wild Birds Unlimited.  Cash or check is accepted at our ticket vendors

The Tour is a fundraiser that supports the work of GLHC, a Lansing-based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. GLHC provides affordable housing to first-time homeowners of modest means. Funds from this fifteenth annual tour will help the Coalition rehabilitate housing in Lansing’s distressed neighborhoods, purchase property for housing homeless individuals and families and revitalize Lansing’s neighborhoods.
