City of Lansing in partnership with the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition (GLHC) provides programs that allow low and moderate income households to buy their own home.

The City provides funding and technical assistance in support of the Rehabilitation Purchase Program. It helps GLHC acquire vacant residential structures that are rehabilitated and sold to income eligible families.

For information on the Program or the availability of renovated homes available for sale call GLHC at (517) 372-5980.

Bill MacLeod

"Adoption" of a house means that an organization or individual gives or raises $10,000 to give to the Coalition to cover costs of managing the acquisition, rehabilitation and sale of a house.

Bill MacLeod, owner of BriarWood Realty, originated and promotes the "Adopt-a-House" program to help the Coalition provide affordable housing for home buyers of modest means.
